Most common does not mean most likely next. Each main number has a 6-in-45, or 13.33%, chance of appearing in any one draw. Frequency rankings describe the draws already completed; they do not change the next draw's probabilities.

Irish Lotto Number Frequency Table

The default view ranks numbers from most to least frequent. The expected-count column gives the raw frequency some context by showing how far each number is above or below the average expected count for the current sample size.

How Current Frequencies Compare With the Expected Average

In a 6/45 draw, each individual number has a 6/45 chance of appearing. Across many draws, the average count per number should move toward one-sixth of the total main-number positions, but short samples can vary substantially.

Lowest Actual Count

Why this matters: a ranking alone can make tiny differences look dramatic. If the expected count is 2.0 and one number has appeared three times while another has appeared once, their ranks differ even though the underlying sample is still small.

Latest Draw Impact on the Frequency Rankings

The six main numbers from the latest draw are shown below with their current frequency rank and the change in rank caused by that result. This makes it easier to see how much one draw can move a young 6/45 dataset.

Frequency and recency answer different questions

Most Common Numbers vs Hot Numbers

“Most common” uses the full current 6/45 era. “Hot” usually refers to a shorter recent window. A number can lead the long-term current ranking while being quiet over the most recent few draws, or vice versa.

Most Common

Ranks each number by total appearances across every current 6/45 draw stored since September 2026.

Hot or Cold

Looks at shorter recent windows such as the last 10, 20 or 30 draws and can therefore move much faster.

Overdue

Measures draws since the last appearance. It is neither a frequency rank nor evidence that a number is “due”.

The Bonus Ball has a different role

Bonus Ball frequency is calculated separately from the six main-number positions. The five current leaders below use the same 6/45-era draw sample but count only the seventh ball.

Why This Ranking Starts With the Current 6/45 Game

Irish Lotto changed from 6/47 to 6/45 on 5 September 2026. Combining raw totals from different number pools can make a “most common” ranking misleading because numbers did not all have the same opportunity to appear across every historical era.

Current 6/45 Ranking

From 5 September 2026

Numbers 1–45 all have the same number of current-era draw opportunities. This is the ranking shown throughout the page.

Historical Formats

Analyse separately

Older Irish Lotto draws remain useful history, but 6/47 and earlier game formats should be compared within their own eras rather than simply added to today's totals.

How to interpret a frequency table

Do the Most Common Irish Lotto Numbers Improve Your Chances?

No. Frequency statistics can tell you which numbers have appeared most often in recorded draws, but they do not make those numbers more likely to appear again.

Every Number Starts Equal

Each number from 1–45 has a 6-in-45 chance of being among the six main numbers in a new draw.

Ranks Can Change Quickly

Especially early in a new game format, one additional appearance can move a number several places in a tied or closely grouped ranking.

Use Statistics as History

They are useful for exploring past draws and comparing number behaviour, not for identifying a combination with better mathematical odds.

Common frequency questions

Most Common Irish Lotto Numbers FAQs

What is the most common Irish Lotto number?

The current 6/45 frequency leader is loading from the latest stored Irish Lotto history.

Which Irish Lotto numbers have been drawn most often?

The current top five are loading from the 6/45 draw history.

Does the most common number have a better chance in the next draw?

No. Each number from 1–45 has the same probability of appearing in the next draw. Past frequency does not alter the random selection process.

Why are these rankings different from older Irish Lotto websites?

This page ranks only the current 6/45 era by default. Sites that combine earlier 6/47 or other historical formats can produce very different totals because the number pools and the amount of time each ball was available were different.

How often is the frequency table updated?

The ranking recalculates from the locally stored Irish Lotto result history whenever new confirmed current-era draws are added.

What does “vs expected” mean?

It compares a number's actual appearance count with the average count expected across all 45 numbers for the same number of draws. It provides context for the raw count but is not a forecast.
