How the game now works

One line, two chances to win

UK Lotto changed in June 2026. The basics stayed the same — you pick six numbers from 1 to 59 and one line still costs £2 — but that single line is now entered into two separate rounds on every Wednesday and Saturday draw night.

Each round has its own draw of six main numbers plus a Bonus Ball. You don’t need to choose a second set of numbers: your original six are automatically entered into both rounds, and each round is drawn and checked independently.

The jackpot is shared between the two rounds, while the other prize tiers are awarded separately in each round. For the winning numbers and full prize breakdown from the latest draw, see UK Lotto Results.

Two rounds improve the chance of winning any prize

1 in 4.9

The new two-round format improved the overall chance of winning a prize with one £2 Lotto line. That does not make any particular number or combination more likely to be drawn.

Quick answers

UK Lotto FAQs

A few of the most common questions about playing the current two-round Lotto game.

How much does a UK Lotto line cost?

One UK Lotto line costs £2. You choose six numbers from 1 to 59, and that same line is automatically entered into both Round 1 and Round 2.

When are UK Lotto draws held?

Lotto draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday evening at around 8pm UK time. You can see the latest confirmed numbers on our UK Lotto Results page.

Why does UK Lotto now have two rounds?

The two-round format began with the draw on Wednesday 10 June 2026. Every £2 line now enters two independent rounds, giving the same six-number line two separate chances to win on each draw night.

Do I use the same numbers in both Lotto rounds?

Yes. You only choose one set of six numbers. Those exact numbers are entered into Round 1 and Round 2 automatically, with each round drawing its own six main numbers and Bonus Ball.

What happens if nobody wins the Lotto jackpot?

The jackpot can roll over for up to five consecutive draws. If it is still not won, the sixth consecutive draw becomes a Must Be Won draw under the Lotto game rules.
