Irish Lotto Statistics – Number Frequency, Pairs & Draw Patterns

Explore Irish Lotto number frequencies, most and least common numbers, overdue numbers, recurring pairs, odd/even patterns, consecutive numbers and more. Statistics default to the current 6/45 game that began in September 2026.

Loading current 6/45 draw statistics…
— current 6/45 draws analysed
— most frequent main number in the selected sample
— longest gap since a main number last appeared
— expected average appearances per main number in this sample

Important context: the 6/45 game only began on 5 September 2026, so the current-era sample is still relatively small. A number appearing more or less often so far does not make it more or less likely in the next draw.

Three different questions, kept separate

Most Common, Least Common and Most Overdue Numbers

“Least common” and “most overdue” are not the same statistic. One measures total appearances in the selected sample; the other measures how many draws have passed since a number last appeared.

Most Common Main Numbers

Least Common Main Numbers

Most Overdue Main Numbers

“Overdue” does not mean “due”. Each draw is random. A number that has missed several draws has the same chance of appearing next time as any other individual number.

Combinations that appeared together

Most Common Irish Lotto Pairs and Triplets

Pair and triplet counts can be interesting, but the current 6/45 era is still young. Rather than filling the page with one-off combinations, the lists below highlight repeated combinations when they actually exist.

Repeated Number Triplets

A pair or triplet repeating in past draws does not increase the probability that the same combination will appear again.

Why the current game needs its own dataset

Why Current Irish Lotto Statistics Start in September 2026

Irish Lotto changed from 6/47 to 6/45 on 5 September 2026. Combining the two number pools in one “current” frequency ranking can distort comparisons, especially for numbers 43–45 and the retired numbers 46–47.

Current 6/45 Era

From 5 September 2026

Numbers 1–45 are in the main draw pool. This page uses this era by default for like-for-like current statistics.

Historical 6/47 Era

Ended 2 September 2026

Numbers 1–47 were in play. Those results remain valid history, but their frequencies belong to a different game matrix.

How to read historical lottery data

What Irish Lotto Statistics Can and Cannot Tell You

They Can Describe Past Draws

Frequency, gaps, pairs and line-shape statistics are useful for understanding what has happened in the recorded draw history.

They Cannot Predict the Next Draw

Every valid six-number combination has the same jackpot probability in a properly random 6/45 draw, regardless of whether its numbers look “hot”, “cold” or overdue.

Sample Size Matters

Early current-era rankings can change quickly because relatively few 6/45 draws have taken place. The page shows the draw count and expected average to make that context visible.

Common statistics questions

Irish Lotto Statistics FAQs

What are the most common Irish Lotto numbers?

The current 6/45 frequency leaders are loading from the latest stored draw history.

What is the most overdue Irish Lotto number?

The current longest gap is loading from the latest stored draw history.

Are hot numbers more likely to be drawn?

No. “Hot” simply means a number appeared more often in the selected past sample. It does not change that number's probability in the next random draw.

Does an overdue number have a better chance next time?

No. A long gap is a historical fact, not a prediction. The next draw does not compensate for a number being absent from previous draws.

Why not combine all Irish Lotto draws since 1988?

The game has used different number matrices over time. Current 6/45 statistics are cleaner when compared with other 6/45 draws rather than being mixed with older formats that included different numbers.

How often are these statistics updated?

The calculations are made from the Irish Lotto result history stored by My Lottery Life. As new confirmed draws are added to that history, the page recalculates automatically.

Age restriction and responsible play

Irish National Lottery Games Are for Adults Aged 18+

Lottery statistics can make past patterns interesting to explore, but they do not provide a reliable way to predict future winning numbers. If you choose to play, keep spending within a budget you can comfortably afford.
