Lotto Plus is an optional add-on to an Irish Lotto ticket. You do not choose a second set of numbers: the same six numbers on each Lotto line are automatically entered into two additional independent draws, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2.
The Plus option does not improve the odds of winning the main Lotto jackpot. Your main Lotto Match 6 chance remains 1 in 8,145,060 per line. Plus gives the same line two additional draws with separate €1 million Match 6 top prizes.

Two Additional €1 Million Draws With the Same Numbers
Adding Plus does not alter your six chosen numbers. Instead, it reuses them in two additional 6/45 draws. Each Plus draw has its own €1 million Match 6 top prize and its own lower prize table.
Main Lotto
Your line remains in the main Irish Lotto draw, where Match 6 wins or shares the rolling jackpot.
Lotto Plus 1
Your same line is checked against a separate 6/45 result with a fixed €1 million Match 6 top prize.
Lotto Plus 2
The same line is checked again against another separate 6/45 result, also with a €1 million Match 6 top prize.
It is possible for the same Lotto line to win in more than one of the three draws if its numbers match the separate results.
How to Play Irish Lotto Plus
Choose Your Lotto Lines
Select six numbers from 1–45 or use a Quick Pick. The minimum Lotto purchase is two lines.
Add the Plus Option
Select Lotto Plus when buying the ticket. It adds €1 per Lotto line.
Your Numbers Enter 3 Draws
The same numbers are checked against Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 on that draw night.
Check All Three Results
Each draw has separate winning numbers, a Bonus Ball and its own prize outcome.
Irish Lotto and Lotto Plus draws are held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Ticket sales close at 7:45pm Ireland time, with the official livestream starting at 7:55pm.
What Changed for Lotto Plus in 2026?
The September 2026 Irish Lotto changes materially changed both Plus games. The ball pool fell from 47 to 45, Plus 2's top prize increased to €1 million, both Plus games moved to the same prize structure, and the old Lotto Plus Raffle was retired.

The smaller current number pool improved the Match 6 odds from the old 6/47 game to 1 in 8,145,060.
Plus 2 Top Prize → €1m
Lotto Plus 2 now offers the same €1 million Match 6 top prize as Plus 1.
Plus Raffle Retired
The separate four-digit Lotto Plus Raffle is no longer part of the current Plus game.

How much does Irish Lotto Plus cost?
Lotto costs €2 per line and the Plus option adds €1 per line. Because the minimum Lotto purchase is two lines, the minimum ticket is €4 for Lotto only or €6 with Lotto Plus.
Do I get both Lotto Plus 1 and Plus 2 for the extra €1?
Yes. The €1-per-line Plus option enters that Lotto line into both Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2. You cannot choose just one of the two Plus draws.
Do I choose different numbers for Lotto Plus?
No. The same six numbers from your Lotto line are used automatically in Plus 1 and Plus 2.
What are the Lotto Plus 1 and Plus 2 top prizes?
Under the current rules, Match 6 pays €1 million in Lotto Plus 1 and €1 million in Lotto Plus 2, subject to the overall game prize caps.

Does Lotto Plus still have a raffle?
No. The Lotto Plus Raffle was retired as part of the September 2026 game changes.
