Weekday Windfall prize divisions
Paid to each of up to six Division 1 winning standard entries. If there are more than six, the maximum $6 million Division 1 pool is shared equally.
| Division | What one standard game must match | Odds per game | Prize type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 6 winning numbers | 1 in 8,145,060 | $1m for up to six winners |
| 2 | 5 winning numbers + either supplementary number | 1 in 678,755 | Variable draw dividend |
| 3 | 5 winning numbers | 1 in 36,690 | Variable draw dividend |
| 4 | 4 winning numbers | 1 in 733 | Variable draw dividend |
| 5 | 3 winning numbers + either or both supplementary numbers | 1 in 298 | Variable draw dividend |
| 6 | Either 1 or 2 winning numbers + both supplementary numbers | 1 in 144 | Variable draw dividend |
The divisional odds above are rounded to the familiar published “1 in N” form. They apply to one six-number standard game. The two supplementary numbers are the seventh and eighth balls drawn from the same 45-number barrel.
How do your Division 1 odds change with more games?
For Division 1 there is one winning six-number combination among 8,145,060 possible combinations. If every game you enter is different, adding more games gives you that many distinct combinations in the draw.
This is a mathematical combination comparison, not a recommendation to spend more.
System and Pick entries are bundles of standard combinations
A System entry selects more than six numbers and expands them into every six-number combination within that selection. A Pick entry works in the opposite direction: you lock in four or five chosen numbers and the lottery system combines them with numbers you did not select.
System 8
28 standard combinationsChoosing eight numbers creates C(8,6) = 28 six-number games. If all 28 are distinct, the Division 1 chance is 28 in 8,145,060 — equivalent to about 1 in 290,895.
Pick 5
40 standard combinationsThe authorised rules give Pick 5 as an example producing 40 six-number combinations. That gives a Division 1 chance of 40 in 8,145,060 — about 1 in 203,627.
| Entry structure | Underlying standard combinations | Equivalent Division 1 odds |
|---|---|---|
| 1 standard game | 1 | 1 in 8,145,060 |
| System 7 | 7 | 1 in 1,163,580 |
| System 8 | 28 | 1 in 290,895 |
| System 9 | 84 | 1 in 96,965 |
| System 10 | 210 | 1 in 38,786 |
| Pick 5 | 40 | 1 in 203,627 |
| Pick 4 | 820 | 1 in 9,933 |

How the Weekday Windfall prize pool works
Division 1 is the unusual part of Weekday Windfall. For draws from 20 May 2024, the authorised rules provide $1 million for each of up to six Division 1 winning standard entries. If there are more than six Division 1 winners, $6 million is split equally between them.
Divisions 2 to 6 work as draw dividends rather than guaranteed fixed amounts. The rules set reference allocations for those lower divisions, and the money allocated to a division is divided equally between the winning standard entries in that division.
The rules also allow approved adjustments to those allocation percentages and specify what happens if a particular lower division has no winners, so the actual dividend should always be taken from the completed draw result rather than estimated from the percentages alone.
Why more games improve the odds but do not make a number “due”
Buying more different combinations covers more of the 8,145,060 possible six-number sets. That is the only reason the Division 1 probability improves. It does not make any particular number hotter, colder, overdue or more likely to appear.
A QuickPick and a valid line you choose yourself have the same probability. Historical frequency can describe what has happened in previous draws, but each valid six-number combination has the same Division 1 chance before a new independent draw.
If you want random valid lines rather than choosing them manually, use the Weekday Windfall number generator.
