How the game works

A monthly-prize lottery drawn every day

Australian Set for Life uses a simple 7-from-44 format. Choose seven different numbers, or use the operator’s random-number option. The draw produces seven winning numbers followed by two supplementary numbers from the same 44-number pool.

One standard entry covers seven consecutive daily draws. That makes the ticket structure different from buying a single Powerball or Oz Lotto draw.

Unlike the UK game with the same name, Australian Set for Life has no separate Life Ball. The full draw and entry timing belongs on the draw-time page.

The headline prize

$200,000 upfront + $20,000 every month for 20 years

From Draw 4057 on 14 September 2026, the top prize combines immediate cash with the game’s long-running monthly-payment format.

Match all 7 winning numbers

$200,000 upfront

Then $20,000 a month for 20 years: 240 monthly payments worth $4.8 million, plus the new upfront payment for a $5 million standard Division 1 prize. The first instalment is $220,000.

Division 1 odds

Chance for one standard game

1 in 38,320,568

Division 2 now pays $20,000 upfront plus $5,000 a month for 12 months, making the first instalment $25,000. Division 1 and Division 2 remain guaranteed at their standard level for up to four winners in a draw.

New prize format live from Draw 4057 — 14 September 2026

Division 1 now pays $200,000 upfront plus $20,000 a month for 20 years. Division 2 now pays $20,000 upfront plus $5,000 a month for 12 months. The 7-from-44 format and published winning odds are unchanged. The game price also increased from 60c to 70c per game per draw, before retailer commission.
