What the odds box is showing you
One standard Australian Powerball game has Division 1 odds of 1 in 134,490,400. If you have five different lines, you cover five different Division 1 combinations. That makes the combined Division 1 chance for those five lines 1 in 26,898,080.
Ten different lines make it 1 in 13,449,040. That is better than one line because you have bought more combinations. But the chance is still very small. The generator shows the maths so the extra lines stay in perspective.
Why the Powerball can repeat a main number
You might generate a line such as 4, 11, 16, 19, 25, 31, 35 + Powerball 11. That is valid. The seven main numbers and the Powerball come from separate number pools, so the same printed number can appear in both parts of the result.
Main numbers do not repeat within one line. And this tool also avoids generating the exact same full 7 + 1 line twice in the same set.

How does the Australian Powerball number generator work?
It randomly creates seven different main numbers from 1 to 35 and one Powerball from 1 to 20. Each complete line is kept unique within the set shown on the page.
Can the Powerball be the same number as a main number?
Yes. The Powerball comes from a separate 1 to 20 pool, so its printed number can be the same as one of the seven main-number values.
Do generated Powerball numbers have better odds?
No. Every valid standard line has the same Division 1 chance before the draw. This is simply a quick way to make random valid selections.
What are the Division 1 odds?
The official odds are 1 in 134,490,400 for one standard game. More distinct games cover more different combinations, which is why the odds box changes when you generate more lines.
Does MLL save the numbers I generate?
No. The lines are created in your browser for this page visit. Use the copy button if you want to keep them.
Is a generated line an official Powerball ticket?
No. It is only a number suggestion. You still need to enter the numbers correctly through an authorised lottery sales channel if you want to play them.
