Set For Life Number Frequency, Pairs & Draw Statistics

Explore every Set For Life main number from 1 to 47. See how often it has been drawn, its average time between appearances, which numbers it has appeared with most often and how it combines with each Life Ball.

What can you compare? 47 main numbers × 1,081 pairs

Choose one number, compare any two main numbers, then optionally add Life Ball 1 to 10.

Interactive Set For Life history

How often does a Set For Life number appear?

Select a main number to see its complete historical frequency and return-time profile. Add a second number to analyse how often the pair has appeared in the same draw, or switch on Life Ball comparison to study a specific Life Ball relationship.

Historical data, not a prediction: these figures describe completed Set For Life draws. A number having a long current gap, a high pair index or an above-average historical frequency does not make it more likely to appear in the next draw.

Number frequency

Frequency shows more than the number of times a ball has appeared

A raw appearance count tells you how many completed Set For Life draws contained a number. The explorer also measures the distance between those appearances, so you can see how frequently each number has historically returned.

Example: if a number has appeared 102 times, the useful question is not only “102 out of how many draws?” The explorer calculates each real interval between those 102 appearances and reports the average gap in draws, average gap in calendar days, median gap, shortest gap, longest gap and the number's current gap.

Average gap between appearances

The average is calculated from the completed intervals between one appearance and the next. It is not simply the age of Set For Life divided by the total number of appearances.

Current gap compared with normal

The gap ratio compares the number of draws since the most recent appearance with that number's own historical average interval. It is a descriptive measure of how stretched the current gap is.

Number pair frequency

How often are two Set For Life numbers drawn together?

There are 1,081 unique pairs among the 47 Set For Life main numbers. Select any two numbers to see how many completed draws contained both, how long the pair usually takes to reappear and when the pair last occurred.

The pair index compares actual appearances with random expectation. A value of 1.00× is close to the expected number of joint appearances across the loaded archive. A value above or below 1.00× describes the historical result only; it does not change the odds of that pair in a future draw.

Life Ball relationships

Compare any main number or number pair with a Life Ball

Switch on Life Ball comparison and choose a Life Ball from 1 to 10. With one main number selected, the explorer shows how often that number and Life Ball have appeared in the same draw. Add a second main number to analyse the exact three-part relationship.

When only one main number is selected, the explorer also displays all ten Life Balls alongside it so you can compare their historical joint frequencies without running ten separate searches.

Lottery Lab methodology

How the Set For Life frequency and gap statistics are calculated

The explorer reads the completed Set For Life results archive in date order. For each number or combination it records every matching draw, then measures the intervals between consecutive matches.

Draw gap

The number of completed draws between one appearance and the next. If a number appears in consecutive draws, its return interval is one draw.

Calendar-day gap

The difference between the actual dates of consecutive appearances. This gives a more intuitive time measure alongside the draw count.

Expected pair appearances

The expected count uses the probability that two specified numbers are both included in a 5-from-47 draw, multiplied by the number of completed draws in the archive.

Life Ball expectation

A specified Life Ball is one of ten possibilities. The expected main-number and Life Ball relationship therefore combines the main-number inclusion probability with the 1-in-10 Life Ball probability.
