SPACE INVADERS Cash Invasion — a live technical dispute
Hoosier Lottery's official page says the $5 game launched on 2 June 2026 with a technical issue and that ticket sales were halted. The game reached end-of-sale on 16 June, and affected players were directed to a formal protest process that requires the purchased ticket to be submitted for review.
Reporting on the dispute described player Mike Fields as believing his ticket showed the game's $100,000 top prize, while the lottery's validation record indicated $20. Another player reported an apparent $2,500 win that did not validate as a prize. Hoosier Lottery publicly described a conflict between what some tickets appeared to show and what was recorded on the official validation record.
Why this matters: it is a current real-world demonstration that the visible scratch area is not the only record involved in paying a prize. When those records conflict, the outcome becomes a rules-and-review question rather than a normal retail payout.
